Review:
I was lucky enough to see the movie much earlier than most. To me it seems that Anderson really hit his stride out of it. It was strange to me that after leaving the theater that first of all I wondered what the hell is going on! The Master is not an easy film to sit through it, and sometimes do not even know what movie he wants. But then it turns out that the film does not want anything. All it asks is for you to follow. More than his previous films, the Master and the blood is terrifying to the field of film as a pure movie presentation of life. Anderson does not judge or point of view, he pulls just the canvas that lets her characters speak for themselves. Yes, it is a beginning, middle and end, but that's it? Do you really have a sense of catharsis at the end of There Will Be Blood? or simply to understand the man a little better? Anderson pointed out, so I'm sure you can say the same about the film, there will be blood that was not a metaphor for anything. It was what it was. No hidden meaning, not complicated and often stereotypical overtones. Its just a human. As a form of Hoffmans said in a trailer for the Master - But most of all I man.The film deals with an interesting idea leadership in relation to the soldier, Captain vs slaves. It breaks down the anatomy of the compound can be interpreted in any way Youd like. Its beautifully shot on 65/70mm film, which is the way I saw it, and the safety : tt I recommend that you see if you get the chance. It feels like Anderson gives the finger to the digital revolution by shooting his film on the size so large that digital can only dream about it for about ten years or so.The acting and dialogue is superb as you would expect. Phoenix and Hoffman is on another level here, especially in the role of Phoenix lifetime. There are definitely times in the film that completely disappears into the role. There are also a lot of support working with Laura Dern and others. It would be difficult to put the film in their work. More than anything, it feels like a natural continuation of what he started with There Will Be Blood. This does not mean that he will continue on this path, but just that it is much more focused film than any of his previous work teams. I found it to be less addictive than any of his other works, but it was never boring. You are always on your toes and try to understand what is happening and when the movie takes you. It really is just like a human, fascinating work.
