Description:
A young family moved into a historic home in Georgia, to learn that they are not only people's homes. Soon, they find themselves in the presence of a secret underground higher and threatening to bring down anyone in his path.
Review:
For a standalone sequel The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia could have been much worse. The film had some unpleasant pictures, some old-fashioned intimidation and decent enough acting and a suitable atmosphere to fit the mold. I think the title should just Ghosts of Georgia, because the film does not deal with the first film, and it's not even based in Connecticut, it seems clear that it was a cash grab decision. This new story is targeted based on actual events on the Wyrick family and even a made for TV. Reenactment film called A Haunting in Georgia, I have not seen, but I am now interested. The back story on why this psychic disturbance event was handled in a non hard-hitting manner and was not effective. The story / script is only some gaps and shortcomings that keep the film and it was not real or believable.The performances were good, but not great. Abigail Spencer plays Lisa Wyrick, a mother and wife who are struggling with a decreased ability to see and speak with the dead, her sister and daughter also seems to have adopted this gift. Abigail was the highlight of this lackluster horror film and bears most of the weight and the script, but its performance is limited. Chad Michael Murray plays the father Andy Wyrick and gives a rather dull performance, and not much of a share. Katee Sackhoff from Battlestar Galactica fame playing Lisa's sister, Joyce Wyrick, who also has the ability to see the dead. Katee gives a lively performance, but Chad's character was not much to her role, even though she has one of the most memorable moments in the film, needle wires coming out of her mouth. Emily Alyn Lind plays Heidi Wyrick show.'s Young daughter Lisa Wyrick, beginning to show signs of the dead contact She loves to surprise her own which she plays one of the central roles in the film. All in all the performances were OK, but their script lacked depth and charisma.Director, Tom Elkins who is also the editor of this movie and the first and the editor of a few other horror movies, especially the superior sequel to White Noise, White Noise 2: The Light. Tom seems to be a gifted editor, but as a first time director, to learn to do this horror movie looks like it will be on ABC family he has. It was not only a solid direction for this film, the content should have been stronger. Them Writer David Coggeshall has just written for television shows before the short-lived series Watch Over Me. The elements of a good ghost story is because the true story aspect of the film, but David Coggeshall not put to use it well and created something uninspired and vague.Overall, forget the beginning movies title and just go with the spirit surveys of Georgia, because it's not a sequel to The Haunting in Connecticut, is a different story. It was cool to the credits to a picture of the actual family that this movie is shown. Based Their true story is probably much more interesting and scary than the film itself will be presented. The film had little moments of creepiness and intrigue with grotesque images, but the pace was slow, it was deter for the most part, making back-story and was not to take a particular action of third parties. Abuse An unnecessary and pointless sequel that is not really a sequel.
